It's a Moose on the Course, of Course!
In the water down by hole 15, a female moose was spotted this past weekend. She was enjoying a leisurely bath and cool off while the golfers carried on with their game.

Surrounded by Beauty
The gardens and flowers are in full bloom around the course, and truly are a beautiful site to see thanks to our resident horticulturist, Ingrid Musser. Recent feedback from one guest let us know that things are looking pretty good on and around the course:
"I have played hundreds of different courses around North America some of them PGA tour courses. The reason I tell you this? To understand my comparison value when I tell you that Trickle is truly a PGA tour course! It was immaculate, from the perfectly cut tees to the pristine aesthetics of the entire course, bunkers are perfect with great bunker sand, and the starter was very friendly and informative!" - July 2010 - Duane S.

Drive to Kimberley Offers Best Wildlife Sightings - See Recent Photos!
The drive to Kimberley is a beautiful one with the best chances of seeing wildlife in the summer. From Hwy 1, driving down Hwy 93 through Kootenay National Park is a wilderness experience in itself with very little traffic and the surrounding vistas of forest and mountains sans wildlife fencing (a note to be aware of this while driving). But it is not just the park section of the drive that offers the opportunity to see wildlife, it is quite common to have multiple wildlife sightings throughout the entire drive to Kimberley, including: bears, sheep, goats, deer, elk, and moose.
These photos were taken on Monday evening on the drive down to Kimberley. Mama and her cubs were frolicking in the small, grassy meadow alongside the highway.

Golf is FUN & Great Exercise!
Playing a round of golf can be great exercise! If you really need any more excuses to hit the course, here are some great health benefits of the game that will clear your conscious when sneaking off to play:
- Walking the course will put 3 to 5 miles on your pedometre
- A course like Trickle Creek will provide lots of varying terrain to help build your cardiovascular conditioning
- Walking is a great low-impact, cardiovascular exercise that gets your heart and lungs pumping without the strain on your joints
- Burn over 400 calories if carrying clubs, 300 if using a pull cart.
- The repetition of swinging clubs can help tone muscle, improve flexibility, range of motion, balance, and hand-eye coordination.
- The great outdoors and the enjoyment of the sport itself provides excellent mental health benefits!
